For anyone who doesn't know the rest of the officers and our guild leader are currently embarked on a trip around the west of Canada. Hope you made it safely out there guys.
Just to let everyone on the trip know that I'll miss you all (the guild is much quieter without you) and to remind you to update us all on how everything goes. I expect pics and DV posted at least once a day
.
Oh - and Schnurbart - please remember that jumping off cliffs isn't as funny in real life as it is in WoW - it can really hurt
.
Yeah... It would be fun to know how the great adventure is going. But one post / day?? I want more.. hehehe
Well I know they got there dafely anyway and are currently staying in Edmonton.
hmmm, safetly even!
OFFS safely
Aw, I miss you too, Val - and the guildmembers as well. Did you get around to capture the Deadmines pirate ship Friday evening?
Yup, we did get over here safely (hard word!
), only a slight delay in Toronto for me. So far it has been really exciting even tho I haven't been jumping off any cliffs or been out bear wrestling - yet.
I'll try to find out a way to put up some pictures etc. and will eventually get around to write some more about The Great Adventure.
Have fun!
Did you bring Binky and Squirrel along for the trip too?? Or did they have to stay at home??
awww... sounds great that your having a good time and got there safe!!
yes, we all definately expect an update per day
lol
speak soon!!
I did manage to get iSquirrel trough customs even tho I had to use my Gnomish Shrinkray on him first (oh, I do have pictures to prove it, hehe). I haven't met Binky yet but I guess Swifty sent him on vacation in the wilderness where he could meet other bears and maybe learn some new amazing tricks.
Today Swifty and I went to a national park and tried to aggro some bisons without much luck. Probably quite lucky since we didn't have our healy-dealy druid with us. After the encounter with the furclad cows we went hiking a bit where I had the pleasure of tanking some mosquitos while Swifty dealt damage to them. We had a grand picnic by the lake to celebrate our uhm, victory, yeah, against the dreaded mini-vampires afterwards. Bagels with creme cheese, almost as good as the Dragonbreath Chili, Spiderleg Sausage and other such delicious meals that Kyza, Dimage and the rest of the friendly guild keeps feeding the lil' gnome with.
Hmmmm .... Are mosquitos tameable ?
I guess they will be a good addition to my stings
Schnur be careful !!! I heard that Canada is a part of the expansion pack and all creatures there are lvl 120+, so for you own good do not try to aggro/tank any bisons, bears, bugs or local girls. If you see a bronze deposit first make sure this is NOT a monument of some great Canadian guy, and only after doing that you can try to mine it. Strong alcoholic beverages do NOT add tp your fighting skills in pubs, they actually make them worse. Giving food, money or container to a complete stranger may look strange to locals. Taunting shouts works as intended mostly on local police officers. Do NOT /roll to see if you can open chests ... better leave them closed. As far as I know 100c makes 1s($), but I am not sure if 100$ will make 1G. Not every bank has your deposit box, there is a chanse that most of the gems and gold bars you left there are missing, and you WILL need some ID if you want to use it. You cannot sell things you find on the street to the waitress(we can find some exeptions here). Dancing or flexing on the street can take you to ppl will 300+ first aid skill.
Just one tip... don't agro the rednecks.
LOL! no whitty remarks from myself, still laughing over everything else so far!
glad you guys are having a great time and getting good pics
ouch!
**stomach cramp**
That is a good point - where are the pictures? I can't believe your cameras are not digital and the last time I spoke to The Ein she said that Schnur was "wandering around town".
Sounds to me like you have more than enough time to upload a few shots.
'wandering around town aye, aye......aye!' catching a breath of mountain fresh air, aye?
that sounds great to me!
hehe
And while your at it.. Take the official Canadian trip photo... you and a canadian mounted police... Or what ever that person in red is called..
They all have digital cameras. It's just me who doesn't have a digital camera or a camera at all. I'm not a big fan of having my picture taken.
Anyway, I've hardly seen anything worth taking pictures of. I've been locking myself in the basement and marking projects and reports for my course. And... rumour has it, the marking will continue.
poor Elsh .... /cry ...
Stop doing this marking for, hmmm let say at least 12 minutes, and go have some fun !!!
Hehe, thanks for all your great advice, Sonar.
Swifty and I took a 3 hour gryphonmobile ride to the dreaded Drumheller instance the other day where we fought the nasty pirate skeleton dinosaurs - very elite indeed. We found our great-great-great...grandfather there as well, the skiai (or something), a small creature with a backbone. Very interesting stuff. Lots of xp. Swifty, half elf, half mountain goat climbed some hills afterwards and even convinced me to go bouncing even if Valetta had warned me about not jumping off from cliffs. We did make it home in almost one piece, even tho we nearly lost a couple of limbs at the Cool Castle. Oh, and we saw some pretty northen lights as well. Not as good as gnomish fireworks but it was decent.
I hope you're all well
So... ummm... I have to ask. Where are the photos? Still none?
Yeah... Give us photos... We DEMAND it..
photos, photoS, photOS, phoTOS, phOTOS, pHOTOS, PHOTOS, PHOTOS!, PHOTOS!! ..................
You guys know what I mean
Sonar
You should now be able to attach photos to this (or any other) "News" entry.
By using the "Attachments" tab at the top of the page. I've added a "gallery" macro to the original posting so it will automatically display a table of clickable thumbnail images.
I think the new version of the gallery adds new images to the end of the table, so images at the top are the oldest.
Now, I must say.
After Elsh have spent so much time fixing this site.
And even spent some extra time adding a gallery to this blog.
It would have been nice to see some pictures from your trip.
But none have added pictures.
Shame on you Swift and Schnur...
Sending you to corner with DUMB hats on
Elsh give them a yell and force them to add some pictures.
We all know they have cameras and have taken pictures on every event...
By popular demand I've added some recent pictures from Coquitlam, Richmond and Whistler. All of them are availible in a resolution of 1600x1200 or higher as well.
And where are the pictures of the people? Enquiring minds want to know! Show us Swifty in all his Binky glory!
Yippie! pictures! Very nice spider web schnu...I take it that you bravely aggroed the spider out of her web first, killed her with all powers that are Gnomish, and then snapped the quick shot! Well Done oh Brave Gnome!! oooooohhhhh and "very sticky" chinese candy, dare i ask how much mana and health it restores? Looks pretty rare to me, and the "slimy slime", is this any relation to the "slimey ooze" in the wetlands by chance? hmmmm...much to ponder! For what incredible quest must Swifty, Elsh, Binky, Schnu and the wee squirrel embark upon to retrieve the Canadian People Pictures?!?!
