New adventures for a little mage...
Last changed: Apr 01, 2006 05:19 by Felicitas

Our little gnome mage Zam has been on a lot of adventures during this week, he has been to Scholomance for a couple of times, StartScholo, BRD, UBRS and AV. Thanks to all that invited me along, I enjoyed it very much and can't wait till I'm lvl 60 and hit MC and Onyxia . Here are some pictures of my adventures, ranging from a nice picnic with guildies in StratScholo to one of the most funny death I had in game so far .

All the best,

Zam

Whereas the whole raid is lying down at the bottom, Zam decided that he has a deeper eternal sleep directly under the ceiling (died when I hit the ceiling)   Group picnic in StratScholo (Spuzz is hiding to the right like a rouge)

Congratulations are in order for Klingy, who has just completed his first guild run in SM.
Unfortunately Sheanor, who was also with us had to leave us, thankfully Adama was around to save the day. The group consisted of:

  • Moi (Shekin)
  • Padre
  • Felicitas
  • Klingy
  • Sheanor/Adama

Sheanor was with us for the first half of the library instance, and Adama carried on through the Cathedral as well.

Klingy deserves a round of applause for his excellent teamwork during the instance, and Sheanor equally so. Sometimes its hard to work as a team and they rose to the challenge admirably. I'm reminded of the saying "The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" and never before has it been so true.

Bravo to you both Klingy and Sheanor.

Server Down
Last changed: Apr 04, 2006 11:08 by Schnurbart

I logged on at around 18:45 server time to find that the server was being shut down in around 13 minutes.

Apparently something to do with the server being a mess.

Just though that people might like to know.

(view as slideshow)

how people choose to spend their last minutes is of course.. their own business... erm.. im not up there.. really

Runecloth Results!
Last changed: Apr 07, 2006 02:45 by Rianna

Just a quick note to let you know the results of Thursday's Runecloth run..

Thanks to the efforts of those present, as well as many generous donations by those unable to attend, the Run managed to accumulate an amazing 240 pieces of Runecloth! (90 bolts)

These 90 Bolts, Combined with 36 pieces of Rugged Leather. (Provided by Sonarakbadak, and the bears of the Western plaguelands) and 18 Rune thread
(Purchased from the good people of Duncan's Textiles in Stormwind) were
made into 18 Runecloth Bags (14 slot) Almost double the Run's original goal!

Two of the bags were awarded to Klingy, For excellent tailoring services provided (and because he asked really nicely) but the fate of 16 of these bags is yet to be decided...

So, if you or anyone you know has need of these bags let me know! Either by posting here, or contacting me in game (i'm usually there... in one form or another)

Oh and remember to ask for the ones Klingy made! they're the best ones!

(view as slideshow)

Job done! Klingy, Rianna and a bag full of bags :)   The Run stops for a rest in Hearthglen's Town Hall

One Person Can Make a Difference! (but not with over 4000ms latency)

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to let those of you who don't already know I'll be away for a while until Blizzard attends to my request for service regarding serious lag issues that prevent me from having even a remotely enjoyable gaming experience.

I assure you I am doing my best to cut short my time away and have the matter settled straight away. If you're wondering what it's all about feel free to visit http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-tech-support-en&t=286975&p=1 for the thread on the official technical support forums regarding this unpleasant situation.

I wish you all good hunting and the best of luck for now and I hope to play with you again soon.

Love,
Sera

Easter Long Weekend Planning
The Planning

General

We have a long weekend coming up and that's a good opportunity to plan a number of multi-level instance runs and raids. At the last guild meeting, I promised that I'd start a thread to explore some ideas about what we'd like to do.

Suggestions

To begin with, I'd like some suggestions about runs you'd like to make. Include the name of the instance, the number of people required, and a rough guess as to suitable levels.

You might find it helpful to consult our list of dungeons by level and our general list of dungeon info pages which covers all instances and their associated quests up to Blackrock Depths.

Timeline

Monday/Tuesday:

  • Post event suggestions
  • Volunteer to lead an event

Wednesday:

  • Availability info should be all in.
  • Start voting on specific events
  • Volunteer to lead an event

Thursday:

  • Finish voting by 21:00 Game Time
  • Top x events will be created in GEM for sign-up

Your Availability

Tell Us:

  1. Days available (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
  2. Time slots on each day available:
    • Slot1 Morning (08:00 to 12:00)
    • Slot2 Afternoon (12:00 to 18:00)
    • Slot3 Evening (18:00 to 24:00)
    • Slot4 Waaaaayyy Late (00:00 - 08:00)
  3. Character class/level range available

About You:

Please post some information about your availability.
As this information comes in, it will be summarized into a chart. Pick the time slot that's closest to your preferred time to play on any given day.

The Honourbound Alliance & GEM
Last changed: Apr 10, 2006 08:16 by Elsheindra
Labels: mainsitenews, news

Your officers have been busy forging cross-guild alliances again. As mentioned on February 5th, 2005, the One is a purposefully small guild, to help maintain and promote friendships and good times amongst all members. That does make it somewhat difficult to go on end-game runs. As a result, we're now part of cross-guild alliance known as the Honourbound Alliance.

At the moment, the Honourbound Alliance is made up of a combination of social guilds, like the Roses of Dawn, and smaller guilds who don't wish to become large. I'm not completely sure of the exact guild list, but I know the following guilds are currently involved:

The primary organizer, so far, is Cloista (L60 Rogue, Roses of Dawn). There's supposed to eventually be a web site for the Honourbound Alliance. We'll let you know when that happens.

In the meantime, cross-guild events in the Honourbound Alliance, are being coordinated through the use of GEM, the Guild Event Manager add-on. This add-on allows us to create events easily which can be seen by all subscribed Honourbound Alliance members and subscribe to such events. The theory is supposed to be that large raids should always be cross-guild, with sign-up on a first-come, first-served basis, dependent only on classes required. However, GEM can also be used for creating smaller guild-only events for 5-man instances. Our GEM info page has a link to download the latest version of the mod, plus instructions on how to configure it properly (with pictures). As some of the information is restricted (channel name/password), please be sure to login first . The channel name/password are also in our "Guild Info Panel" in the game. If you have any questions, add a comment to the bottom of the GEM info page or ask on the Guild Channel. Everyone should install GEM.

In addition to GEM, we also share a cross-guild chat channel. It uses the same channel name and password as the GEM add-on. You can use this channel to talk to other cross-guild participants or to round up some additional help for some adventure. If you don't have the add-on installed and join the channel using "/join ChanName ChanPassword", you will see general chit-chat but also, unfortunately, the GEM add-on talking to itself as it shares information.

Install GEM, GEM Channel Change, & the 1.10 Patch

Install GEM, GEM Channel Change, & the 1.10 Patch

There are a number of important notices about organizing and participating in various cross-guild raids and smaller guild/cross-guild instance runs. The majority of our organization is being done now using the GEM add-on. The rest of this message covers installation issues, what channel to use, a recent channel change, and how to use GEM with the recent 1.10 Warcraft patch.

All guild members are requested to install the Guild Event Manager (GEM) add-on. This add-on is used to coordinate cross-guild raids and guild/cross-guild 5-man instance adventures.

GEM & 1.10

The latest version of GEM (2.07) does work with the latest World of Warcraft 1.10 patch. However, you will need to click the "AddOns" button on your character selection screen, just before choosing your character. The "AddOns" button is in the lower lefthand corner. Once in the AddOns screen, tick the checkbox that says, "Load out of date AddOns". This will activate GEM.

Previously Installed But Still on "gemtor"?

If you've previously installed GEM are are subscribed to the "gemtor" channel, that's no longer in use. We've joined a larger cross-guild alliance, the Honourbound Alliance, and there's a new GEM channel which has a password. Check the guild info panel in-game for the channel name/password or our own GEM info page. Make sure you log in first, though, as the channel name/password will be hidden otherwise.

Once you know the new channel name/password, simply bring up the "Options" tab of GEM, type in the new channel name (case-sensitive) and the new password (case-sensitive) and click "Accept". By case-sensitive, I mean you need to type the channel name and password exactly as they appear. So if the password is "IAM that EIN", you need to type it in with all the same capital letters, i.e. "IAM" and not "iam", and all the same lowercase letters, i.e. "that" and not "THAT". If you have problems, ask in the guild channel.

This posting replicates the posting on the main site.

Maraudon Fun
Last changed: Apr 11, 2006 14:42 by Kach
Labels: story

Well here it is ladies an gents, another fun filled account of The One's exploits.
This week, having heard of the beauty of the Maraudon Princess, Padre decided to make the dangerous journey to ask for her hand in marriage. Enlisting the aid of his trusty friends, Jkk, Beertje and myself (Shekin) we set off.

Along the way, we stopped for directions from a nice looking giant stone chappie. We must have caught him at a bad time because he viciously attacked us. Quite often shaking himself to bits in his anger.

Having finally found our way again we continued on.

Upon spying the Princess from afar, things did not seem right. No, this couldn't be right, she was repulsive. So digusted were we that we decided such an abomination could not be allowed to live. She was cranky alright.

Spotting a waterfall into a nice deep lake, we took a nice dip to cool off, little did we realise that the crocs in the sewer lead to this monstrosity! Enough crocodile skin to supply a handbad factory was swimming right for us. "Maybe it's an endangered species" I thought. But then I added, "Well so am I."

After we had finishing trouncing Rotgrip, we travelled on, lost and alone, in the depths of this strange place. We were beginning to wonder if we would ever find a way out, when we came across a nasty piece of work. A goblin Tinkerer by the name of Gizlock was determined that we wouldn't live to tell anyone he was there. Needless to say we said his secret was safe with us, only he had to stop trying to kill us. Very strange person.

Suddenly we remembered our magical Hearthstones!
And in a flash we were home!

And the moral of the story?
Well Padre learned to always tip the dating agency.

A Fond Farewell.

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided that it is time for Tarandor to move on. Any alts i have in the guild will remain in the guild and hopefully won't be judged heh.

I just feel that I need to move on in order to do the high end instances as recently there has been nothing in the way of ZG or MC and that's really all there is left for me with Tarandor. Selfish it may seem, but I'm not going to enjoy playing him if I don't do what I feel I want to do. So instead of letting him go to waste I've decided to look for a raiding guild.

I'd like to thank all of you for any help or kindnesses that I have received, and would like all of you to know that I will remain only a whisper away.

Your loving friend,

Tarandor.

Raiding Times and Days
Last changed: May 01, 2006 11:17 by Elsheindra

Summary

If we want to regularly organize raiding adventures for Zul'Gurub and Molten Core, we need to determine some good days for people in the guild to go. Please fill out the two parts of this survey picking a day and a time that you'd prefer and can commit to being regularly available.

You may participate in the voting even if you're not Level 60 but please leave a comment saying you've done so. Obviously, it makes some sense for us to consider the availabilities of current L60 members.

The survey will run until next Monday.
