Crafting Update

Hello Guildies,

I'd like to announce that from this point on I will be making Steel Weapon Chains free (yes, FREE) of charge to guild members who want them. That means you don't need to give me anything, just request one and I'll send it. While the recipe to make them is rare, the materials are relatively trivial, so I'm not losing much in this deal.

I will also make Thorium Shield Spikes for those who provide the mats, with no extra charge. Those mats are 2 x Essence of Earth, 4 x Thorium Bars, 12 x Dense Stone (or 3 x Dense Grinding Stone).

I'm sorry

Dear Schu and ShinyToaster,

You were a great pair to go on a late night scarlet monstary prowl with me in hopes of rounding up another 20 gold for the "Mount For Mages" fund we set up in hopes of collecting money for Firesong's mount. We walked about the monstary hoping that we would either get a donation or just be told to stop bothernig them and go away but they were rather insistant that we had scourge taint so I am sorry to say we had to rough em up a bit and collect donations while they were other wise occupied.

Unfortuntatly after leaveing the libary I found I was bugged so had to restart my machine. However once I restarted I found that I could not get past the character loading screan. I tried again and again but there just wasn't a hope. So I've had to give up.

Hope you can forgive me guys!
thanks for everything!

Markuling, markuling, markuling
Labels: comingsgoings

If you're wondering why I've been scarce lately, it's because I'm in the middle of my last major marking frenzy of the year. The course I chair just ended a week and a bit ago and now I must pay the price for my sloth while the students were working hard. :-P

I should be back next week some time and able to play some WoW again.

Shoping spree

I did a little shoping today.
Nothing spectacular.
Only a new computer and about 300 movies.
hehehe

I should not be allowed to have a wallet some days.

Goodbye and Good Luck
Labels: comingsgoings

Well I know I haven't been here all that long but I have decided to return to Spirits as while I initially wanted to get some Wibble time away from there I have found I definately miss some of the people to much.

So I just wanted to thank you all for being so nice and great fun, I really had a great time and made some good friends. I will of course continue to be around on the hb channel and I hope to see you all around.

So goodbye and thanks for all the meeps! Have a good one Ones

Molten Core and Other Alliance Raiding Polls
Last changed: Aug 28, 2006 15:55 by Elsheindra
Labels: polls

Summary

If we want to regularly organize raiding adventures for Molten Core and other end-game, massively multiple player instances, we need to determine some good days for people in the guild to go with the Honourbound Alliance. This follows on from our earlier Raiding Times and Days poll back in April of this year but our composition of Level 60s has changed quite a lot since then.

You should participate in the voting only if you're currently playing with a Level 60 character. We're polling on days and counting number of Attuned/Keyed to various intances.

The survey is now closed.

Jump to most recent results (if you haven't voted already)

The Day

What day of the week is your most preferred day to go raiding? Please select your number one choice in the first poll, the one to which you feel most able to commit to regularly. Most raids will take from 2-4 hours. We've broken it into two parts: first choice and second choice. Please choose a day from each.

Pick your preferred first choice raiding day. (Log In to vote.)

Pick your preferred second choice raiding day. (Log In to vote.)

Attuned/Keyed

Several high-end instances requires keys or to be Attuned. Please indicate whether you're Attuned/Keyed for the following instances:

Am I attuned for Molten Core? (Log In to vote.)
Yes
No
Am I attuned for Blackwing Lair? (Log In to vote.)
Yes
No
Am I attuned for Naxxaramus? (Log In to vote.)
Yes
No
Am I keyed for Onyxia? (Log In to vote.)
Yes
No

Remember: You will need to log in to vote or to see interim results.

Final Summary Of Votes

August 28th 2006 @23:52 Game Time

Days
Day 1st Choice 2nd Choice Combined
Monday 1 2 3
Tuesday 1 2 3
Wednesday 1 1 2
Thursday 2 0 2
Friday 2 1 3
Saturday 2 3 5
Sunday 2 2 4
Never 1 1 2
Attuned
Molten Core 10 attuned 2 not
Blackwing Lair 3 attuned 9 not
Naxxaramaus 0 attuned 12 not
Onyxia 4 keyed 8 not

Interpretation

For days, it looks like Saturday is preferred overall (5 combined votes), with Sundays (4 votes), and Fridays/Tuesdays/Mondays (3 votes) being next best.

Most of the participants are Attuned to Molten Core (10 of us) but low numbers on the other instances that require attunement/keys, including Onyxia. Blackwing Layer/Naxxaramus are very low but they're also very hard, so no worries about that right now.

Honourbound News from August
Last changed: Aug 16, 2006 14:12 by Shekin

Summary

Honourbound Alliance leaders meeting was held on August 13th. Shekin represented The One as the meeting was at 08:00 my time and too early.

Meeting Notes

  • Expectations of the Alliance: To give casual players of smaller guilds the chance to visit large instances.
  • Big Instances: Practice makes perfect. (As in, we don't expect things to go well right off the bat and neither should you).
  • New Guilds Wanting To Join: Phoenix Legion (6 or 7 Level 60s), Illidan's Redemption (to start off with maybe 5 participants), and Coops of Infernal Ashes.
<Edit by Shekin: Coops of the guild Infernal Ashes has apparently asked for a merger between themselves and Roses, which was turned down. He has since asked to be considered to join the alliance.>
    • Probably Illidan's Redemption and Phoenix Legion will be merged into Honourbound events but not the latter.
    • Now's your chance to offer up some commentary (positive or negative) about new guilds wanting to join.
  • Participation by Non-Alliance Members: Honourbound raids are for members of guilds in the Alliance. Sometimes we accept non-Alliance members (we'll often take alts, for example) but that's up to the discretion of the raid leader. People who have been kicked out of their guilds will likely be banned from Honourbound events by raid leaders.

Current Alliance Guilds and Their Representatives

Each partipating guild should have one senior representative and two junior representatives who can attend meetings and who will help organized Honourbound events. Here's a list I've constructed based on the last two meetings.

  • Roses of Dawn (Basil/Wandjina)
  • The One (Elsheindra, Shekin, and Sonarakbadak)
  • Spirits of the Wolf (Stribet and Drip)

Patchalums

I ventured out upon a midnight clear. And lo! What did I see venturing across the fields of WoW towards me? A new patch. A patch for you and a patch for me. 19.2 MB of pure bliss and joy. Downloaded in less than 5 minutes on my Macintosh toy. Bet yours takes longer, you naughty boy!

Burning Crusade Talent and Spell Calculators

The WorldOfWarcraft.com site has some new talent/spell calculators for a good chunk of the game's classes. You might want to check that out. Alas, if you're a druid, hunter, or priest, your calculators are still coming.

New Hardware for Thunderhorn on August 30th

According to the WoW-Europe forums, we're going to have an extended downtime on August 30th to update the server hardware for Thunderhorn. I assume this is the long-promised hardware update from earlier this year and I hope it alleviates the spiky lags and other issues we experience from time to time on Thunderhorn.

On the negative side, the downtime means no WoW possibly for you. It's not just Thunderhorn getting upgraded. There must be about 30 realms listed in Group 2. Ladies and gentlemen, start your Guild Wars. (-:
