I'm on the character selection screen now but can't enter - hope we'll get something done in MC anyway tonight - was looking forward to it
apparently Nojneak has been able to log in. I phoned him to see if he could.
And the server is warning of another shutdown in a few mins time
Update: As of 19:27 I can log in to the character select screen, but unable to log into the game itself. Weirdly enough when the loading screen is on I get "fatality" come out of my speakers Worms style. Very strange.
after much investigating it seems that the "fatality" is the result of some addon or other, supposedly to tell me of an error. i dunno. freaked the hell out of me tho
Server down again - hope it works after they restart it now.

Always good to know it's not just me...
This is very dissapointing. Molten Core is the only big raiding instance I can join - and then Blizzard has technical issues on sundays! And there are more severs down now than on the whole day!
