I tried logging into WoW earlier only to find a message appear saying that my account has been banned and can no longer be played on. I have no idea why this could be. I'm waiting for an email back from Blizzard. Do you guys think it is just a glitch? What are bannable offences? Please reply when you see this! Eep!

Did you try to log on during maintenance? Might have been a glitch that told you you were banned instead of the servers just being down for the moment. Hope it isn't a real ban, if that's the case I'm pretty sure they send you an email about the reason. Never tried it tho. Hope it works out soon!

Well, I thought that might be the case because me? Banned? Never! I'm trying to log into my account on the wow-europe site, but it is currently saying that there is a maintenance problem but i'm crossing my fingers that it was just a glitch. I'm back at home now, so my time online will be sparse until we can figure out how to get the damn router working

She's still locked out and Blizzard's not being very communicative. She's going to call them tomorrow.

I'm still banned. I've now emailed Blizzard a total of four times and had no reply. I tried calling today but that was a royal waste of time. This is sucking more and more now

I reckon my account has been closed permamently and this is what the website says about closed accounts:

Accounts are closed when a player has excessively and/or grossly violated our policies. When an account is closed, the player is no longer able to access the account. Account Closures are rare and represent a player who is unable to abide by our rules and insists on negatively affecting other players' enjoyment of the game or harming the service itself.

  • Most serious account penalty
  • Very rare
  • Permanent service revocation

I don't get it. I haven't done anything even remotely close to that. The fact I got no warning email from Blizzard is totally strange too. I'm hoping this gets sorted soon but i'm not holding my breath. I wish I could have come to the caverns of time tonight.

I have since the release of WoW heard alot of ppl being banned.
And they did nothing.
Some of them have made contact with Blizz, and got an answer from them.
And for what I can understand.

Blizz says they can terminate your account and they don“t have to explain it to you...

So. It might not have ben you who did annything. It can be someone with a simmilar IP. Since everything is made manually.

Or have annyone played WoW on your computer but you??

Actually, I believe everyone is entitled to hear why they have been banned.

either way,
Riverfern is back with us now. I sent a nasty email on her behalf, and 'lo, next day her account is reactivated and she was credited with a week of free play to replace the time lost.
