Anonymous "CAPTCHA" issue for replying
Labels: wiki, news

I upgraded the Confluence Wiki software on Thursday to get rid of some bugs (like the content by label macro not working in forum posts for Kalak's exploration series or the rogues' gallery). Apparently they've introduced a new bug, though: if you're:

  1. not logged in; and
  2. select "reply to" existing comment

You will not get the CAPTCHA image of letters/synbols to type in to confirm that you are not a spammer bot, although you're asked to type in the letters you see. I've reported this to Atlassian to be fixed.

This does not occur if you just use "Add Comment" instead of the "Reply" version. It also isn't a problem, of course, if you log in either.
