Although the number of level 70s we have is fairly small yet, what you may not realize is that almost all the of the level 70 raiding content (whether 10-person or 25-person) is going to require "keys". These "keys" are really in the form of attunement quest chains like for Molten Core, where every member of the raid must be attuned.

For Kharazan, everone needs the "Master's Key". The sequence goes as follows (basically adapted word-for-word from the Curse Gaming Guide):

  1. The quest line for it starts right in front of the tower with a woman. She will give you two soloable quests which are done outside of the tower.
  2. You must then travel to Dalaran and speak with a mage on the northern side of the city. You will then receive a quest to get the First Key Fragment from a container near Murmur in the Shadow Labyrinth (level 70 - Auchindoun wing).
  3. Once you complete that quest, you are then instructed to retrieve the Second Key Fragment from The Arcatraz (level 70 - Tempest Keep wing) and the Third Key Fragment from Steamvault (level 70 - Colfang Reservoir wing).
  4. After you collect all three fragments you must complete the Opening the Dark Portal (Escape from Durnholde must be completed first in order to be able to enter the Opening the Dark Portal) inside the Caverns of Time to have Medivh complete the key.

The part we've typically had trouble getting people through is the Black Morass bit (part of the Opening the Dark Portal). You'll need a decent group to do that. It's basically a set of 18 waves of nasties with several sub-bosses and little opportunity to rest up.

WoWWiki has a nice set of Kharazan info pages if you're interested in reading up on it.

Some hints:

You don't have to fight Murmur to get the first key-fragment from Shadow Labs. Just go to the left at the circle surrounding Murmur, and prepare to run back to your group once the key-watcher spawns. You can get it down and loot the key without starting the Murmur encounter.

As for the key from Steam Vaults: You can get this key fragment without even killing a single boss. Go into Steam Vaults, and just before tackling the first boss, jump into the water close to it, dive down, open the box and prepare to swim up again so you and your party can take down the key-watcher.

In Arcatraz the key is midway in the instance, so you can get it without doing a full run as well.

Opening the Dark Portal worked very well with a mage taking adds and getting a heal from the healer from time to time. If you are trying to do Karazhan, your spelldmg will be good enough for taking the adds, you might want to get some mana potions and some mana /5sec items potions or something like that.

Good luck everybody

If you are a stealth class the Steam Vaults key peice is even easier just take along one other person that can stealth and you can run to the key without killing anything.

Another good tip is before opening pots (say in murmur etc) if you have a lock you can summon people into your group specifically to pick the key peices if needed.

Dark portal adds are very, very easy to control for a druid, roots and sleep both work. This means you can either help out the person on add control or kill them yourself without to much hassle. Druids are fantastically useful in CoT...
