Ye Olde Geezers forms Karazhan Team Green Team
Last changed: Jan 31, 2008 19:42 by Elsheindra
Labels: karateamgreen, thbnews

Titanias (L70 Warlock) is heading up a new Karzhan team formed primarily of Ye Olde Geezers. This new team, christened Team Green with Orange Spots, had their first Karazhan run on Thursday evening (January 31, 2008), where they successfully took down Attumen/Midnight. It was so successful, in fact, that the rare purple Fiery Warhorse's Reins dropped and were awarded to Titanias.

At the moment, Team Green (with Orange Spots) seems to be running on Thursdays. Some spots will be filled with non-YOG members, although I think the final team composition remains to be seen.

However, it all works out, we wish them lots of luck in their Karazhan adventure!

PS: Remember that you can follow their adventures on the Karazhan Raid Progress page!

Team Pink Clears Again
Last changed: Feb 13, 2008 06:30 by Elsheindra
Labels: karateampink, thbnews

Team Pink is there! Over Thursday and Tuesday (yesterday), they did their second complete clear of Karazhan with minimal fuss and bother. Total time across the two runs was about 5 hours. Their next task is to whittle away the time spent on trash mobs so that they're completing the whole lot in 3.5 to 4 hours. Good luck with that, Team Pink!

New Version of GEM released 2.29
Last changed: Feb 13, 2008 06:45 by Elsheindra
Labels: news, thbnews

The 2.29 version of GEM has been released with some interesting "features", some of which look more useful than others. From a user point of view, one of the potentially interesting features is the removal of the "throttle" that made GEM so slow to update. You might recall this was added when Blizzard suddenly changed guild and private channels (which is what we use for GEM) to have a limit on how many messages could be sent to the channel over a certain period of time, which caused GEM to start losing information. If this is no longer necessary, GEM updates on the channel should be much faster. This is certainly my hope!

You can download the new GEM from the usual locations:
Here at WoWKindness or from the author's site.

PROGRESS REPORT for Team Green (with orange spots)

1st Kara Raid (Thursday 31st January 2008)
Was a great try, we managed to get Attumen down easily enough. Moroes was a bit of a pain, after a good try several times, we decided to call it. As this was the 1st attempt as a newly grouped set of people, it went well. Some times there was sum hesitation involved on what targets belonged to who and which order they were ment to die, but im sure this will come with practice as a new raid group.

2nd KARA Raid (Monday 4th February 2008)
(Continued run from 31st jan '08 with Attumen downed then) Straight in on Moroes. Moroes downed after a warm
up, followed by the Maiden We then proceded swiftly onwards to the nights opera event.. Wizard of OZ. After some discussion on tactics, we had a warm up battle to practice positioning n kill order. Outcome? WIZARD OF OZ cleared!! we well done all n gratz on slayin 3 bosses on 2nd run!

3rd Kara Raid (Thursday 7th February 2008)
Fresh new Karazhan. Attumen, Moroes and opera event (R&J) all attempted and defeated. Maiden was attempted,
but not downed as far as i recall... <Could this be ammended on the Team Green(with orange spots) Raid progress please> Team Green progressing fast each week Good result all!!

4th Kara Raid (Monday 11th February 2008)
(Cont raid from 7th Feb '08) Kara seemed spookily quiet to start as most mobs and 3 bosses slain the
previous visit, we proceed onto the trash mobs Towards the Maiden. After 2 tries she was down!! Well done all. Following the mobs onwards we made our way to the Curator. After tactical discussion and several attempts later, the Curator refused to fall. With a bit more tactical tweaking we will defeat him next time!

So far, Team Green (with orange spots) has made sum great progress in the 2 weeks it has been running. Since starting team Green YOG's hav welcomed many fellow THB members (and also recruited newly proposed
applicants.. Cursed Crusaders)to join and with help from these hav made these runs possible. Many thnx ALL!

Team Terracotta Terrorizes Canny Creatures in Zul'Aman
Last changed: Feb 13, 2008 16:52 by Elsheindra
Labels: thbnews, zateamterracotta

Tonight was Team Terracotta's first venture in Zul'Aman and they got off to a great start, taking down Nalorrak, the bear boss, within the 20-minute limit. Kanine (L70 Warrior, Roses of Dawn) picked up Fury. For downing Nalorrak in 20 minutes, Muaddib (L70 Shadow Priest, Roses of Dawn) was the lucky winner of Shadowcaster's Drape.

With the sweet taste of a quick victory on their lips, they headed onwards to tackle Akil'zon, the Eagle Avatar. While he didn't fall on the first attempt, he was quickly downed on a second attempt. Lucky Juffa (L70 Paladin, The One) walked away with Amani Punisher.

The team did make several attempts after that on the Lynx boss, Halazzi, but that was pretty tough going and will have to wait for another visit or two. Nevertheless, a fantastic showing for Team Terracotta.

Your local Team Terracotta is:

  • Wandjina (RoD, Leader) - Warlock ranged DPS
  • Juffa (TO) - Paladin tank
  • Kanine (RoD) - Warrior tank
  • Elsheindra (TO) - Druid healer
  • Gimlinox (PL) - Paladin healer
  • Jeandra (TO) - Paladin healer
  • Muaddib (RoD) - Priest ranged DPS
  • Phoebus (RoD) - Mage ranged DPS
  • Derthon (TO) - Paladin melee DPS
  • Sqog (PL) - Rogue melee DPS

Congrats, Team Terracotta. We look forward to more exciting exploits in the future!

Circle of Elder Retires
Last changed: Feb 17, 2008 17:51 by Elsheindra
Labels: news, thbnews

Honourbound Alliance guild Circle of Elder has disbanded. Guildmaster Bingley made arrangements with Mymosa for Circle of Elder members wishing to stay on in THB to join up with the Roses of Dawn. Several Circle of Elder members are now Roses and will continue to play with us.
It's always sad to see things end. Best wishes to Bingley and those who have passed on to other guilds and adventures.

Wish Me Luck in the House Buying Adventure
Last changed: Mar 19, 2008 20:07 by Elsheindra
Labels: pictures

Basil and I are trying to buy a house around London. We made an offer this weekend, which the owners have agreed to. The next step is to get a mortgage in principle to cover the cost of the house and do the legal bits like getting it surveyed and checking titles, etc.

This is a big step. This is a scary step! EEEPPPPP! Send best wishes and donations of £20k ASAP, thanks!

Some Pictures
(view as slideshow)

Bedroom 1: A view of part of the master bedroom. The wardrobe cupboard on the left is built into the wall. There are cupboards over top and and a matching set of double wardrobe cupboards on the other side of the bed.   Living Room 2: The other half of the living room. Kari's standing near the doorway from which the first living room picture was taken.

Garden 1: Taken from the back of the large part of the back garden -- that's Kari and me hiding behind him. The conservatory door to the back garden is off to back right there.   The cooking half of the kitchen. The other half is the dining area and window (out of sight).

The jacuzzi bathtub in the upstairs bathroom.   Garden 3: The smaller part of the back garden around the side of the conservatory.

Move over, Maulgar
Last changed: Feb 19, 2008 18:16 by Elsheindra
Labels: gruulsbande, thbnews

The Honourbound Alliance ran its first run into Gruul's Lair after the New Year's Exodus of Players to the Promised Land. Armed with only 6 on-spec healers (and borrowing two or three off-spec as needed), the team downed Maulgar after some practice. They then went on to tackle Gruul himself. On our best effort, we got him down to 26% and the raid's combined DPS was over 5800. That's got some excellent potential for completion if we just keep up the good work.

Thanks to all those who came along!
