All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Last changed: Mar 12, 2008 00:36 by Waltz Labels: comingsgoings
Hello everyone.
Just putting a post here to let you know I haven't disappeared down a manhole (see http://www.drainspotting.com/ for an excellent manhole cover collection, btw!). I have had tons and tons of stuff to do at work the last couple of weeks, so WoW time has mostly been limited to trying to help my arena partners get their 10 games (which I also have failed at with a few teams :/ ).
I will hopefully be done with most of the work by friday so I hope to be more online with Waltz then. See you soon!
Is anyone looking forward to easter? I sure am - got a trip to Italy planned with some childhood friends...can't wait!

Last changed: Mar 19, 2008 19:32 by Elsheindra Labels: karateamgreen, thbnews
After many valiant attempts over the month of February, Team Green downed the Curator with some help from Jazhara (Ye Olde Geezers) and Karinaaru (The One) on Tuesday, March 11th. Congratulations and good luck with your ongoing adventures in Karazhan, Team Green!
The London One Meet Is Successful
Last changed: Mar 19, 2008 17:57 by Elsheindra Labels: thbnews, social
The One (plus a token Roses of Dawn) had an impromptu get together in London this past weekend, taking advantage of Schnurbart and Aiedail being in the country from Denmark.
Attendees included:
The intrepid group of 9 met at Covent Garden station and headed off for a nummy noodle lunch at Wagamama, followed by a very educational trip to the Science Museum. Dinner was at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen, followed by some jollification at Punch 'n Judy at Covent Garden.
See the pictures and get the real One experience at Real Life Guild meet up.
PS: Rumour has it that there will be a South Coast meet at the end of May. Stay tuned for details!
Team Terracotta Continues to Terrorize Zul'Aman
Last changed: Mar 19, 2008 18:20 by Elsheindra Labels: thbnews, zateamterracotta
Team Terracotta (running on Wednesday evenings only) continues to try to terrorize the denizens of Zul'Aman, led by the intrepid Wandjina/Basil (Roses of Dawn).
The Team has generally been quite successful in the calendar month. On one recent adventure, they took down the Eagle boss in about 12 minutes from the start of the instance and then attempted the bear boss, but not quite managing to do them both and get both timed rewards. Ah well, it's in the cards and will happen yet!
March also saw Team Terracotta tackle Jan'Alai, the Dragonhawk boss, for the first time. Last night's run (Wednesday) was our third attempt and we think we'll lick it next week.
Now, if only I could get the bosses to drop some useful druid healing gear instead of useless plate and mail. (-: Stay tuned for more exciting Team Terracotta adventures from your local RadioEin™ affiliate station!
Meet Karazhan's Team Tangerine
Last changed: Mar 19, 2008 19:24 by Elsheindra Labels: karateamtangerine, thbnews
The Honourbound Alliance is pleased to announce the recent formation of Team Tangerine, a semi-fixed Karazhan team running on Sunday evenings. This team, designed specifically for those Honourbound members in inconvenient time zones or normally unable to participate in weekday evening runs, is led by Kariandra (L70 Warrior, The One) and Popcorn (L70 Warrior, The One).
On their first visit on Sunday, March 9th, Team Tangerine was able to take down Attumen/Midnight and Moroes, both on the first attempt. The Team then ventured onwards to try Maiden, but probably had too much melee DPS.
Tangerine was on vacation this past Sunday. There is a run posted on GEM for Easter Sunday. If sufficient people sign-up, the run will go this Sunday. So if you're DPS or a healer and looking for a Karazhan drop-in spot, consider Team Tangerine. If you haven't already been to Karazhan, please ensure you meet the specifications described on the Karazhan raid info page.

Donations To Support Our Ventrilo Server
Last changed: Mar 20, 2008 19:30 by Elsheindra Labels: thbnews
The Honourbound Alliance currently has a professionally hosted Ventrilo voice communications server. The server is available for anyone in the Honourbound Alliance to use for raid communications, instancing, or just shooting the breeze.
We're pleased to support the highest-quality codecs possible and provide clients for both Macintosh and Windows users, giving the best possible voice communications experience for our alliance. This does, however, come at a cost. Basil (Roses of Dawn, THB Co-Coordinator) and Elsheindra (The One, THB Co-Coordinator) had been personally paying for our 25-slot communications server. An anonymous benefactor has just contributed enough to cover the past 6 months of hosting. Thank you very much, Mr. Anonymous Benefactor!
If you find our Ventrilo service useful, why not throw it $5.00 or so? Money can be paid directly to our Ventrilo hosting company DarkStar Communications to cover our current hosting costs or to allow us to expand the number of slots available (for bigger raids to Gruul's, SSC, etc, plus allow other raids/people to use it simultaneously). Donations are accepted via PayPal or Credit Card using DarkStar's ClanPay Donation System. Donate today!

Team Tangerine Crushes Curator
Last changed: Mar 24, 2008 06:02 by Elsheindra Labels: karateamtangerine, thbnews
Our newest team, Team Tangerine, running only on Sunday evenings, continues their march into the mayhem that is Karazhan. On their Easter Sunday run, they downed Maiden for the first time and crushed the Curator on their first ever attempt. Nice work, people! Check out their progress on the Karazhan raid progress page.
Rumour has it that this may be due to the helping hands of Shekin (The One) as a healer and Phoebus (Roses of Dawn) as ranged DPS. Thanks for helping out Team Tangerine on a holiday.
Remember: this isn't a competition; it's a cooperative.
All hail THB!

A Song for The One?
Last changed: Mar 25, 2008 09:10 by Rianna
I'm guessing this isn't gonna be an easy question, since music has a tendency to bring out strong feelings and opinions in people. But that's also what makes it a good question to ask too.
I'm sure most of you are aware that The One has an Official Guild Movie, maybe we should have an Official Guild Song too?
This isnt the first time this had been suggested, as a good starting point, read the earlier forum post here Especially Val's list of 'forbidden' songs.
Looking forward to your suggestions. I'll post a few of mine soon too
Ventrilo Server Update
Last changed: Mar 25, 2008 12:52 by Elsheindra Labels: thbnews
I received a notice last night from DarkStar LLC, our Ventrilo hoster, that the IP addresses for many of their servers were changing, including for ours. What they look like they've done is cloned the old server onto a new IP address and left the old server running. So if you join Ventrilo and nobody else is there or people are missing, try connecting directly to the new IP address: 78.129.193.9
I did update our ventrilo.honourbound.org address right away, but it takes some time to propagate through the Internet, so although I don't expect any problems, I thought I'd post just in case.

Zuri's guide to Mount Hyjal
Last changed: Mar 26, 2008 08:48 by Rianna Labels: raid, pictures, exploration
I have a bit of a tradition of getting into places I really shouldnt, and well, since Patch 2.4 opened up Mount Hyjal for all, I thought i'd go take a bit of a look around.
Here's a series of screenshots of the place, but I really really recommend checking it out for yourself. it's pretty much one of the best looking places in the game. and has great atmosphere and sound too.
But for those of you who dont wanna go yourself, here's the tour.
