Make the nam prik pow sauce by heating the oil
and then frying the garlic over a moderate heat until the garlic is
golden brown. Remove the garlic from the oil using a slotted spoon
and then fry the shallots in the same pan until they're crisp and golden.
Again, remove them, and then fry the chilies until they're darkened.
Place the shallots, garlic, and chilis into a blender, along with the
measure of water. Purée until smooth.
Heat the leftover oil again in the frying pan.
Add the nam prik pow sauce from the blender, the sugar, and salt (if
using). Stir and cook the sauce until it thickens and becomes a dark,
reddish brown.
Pour your vegetable stock into a large saucepan
and add the nam prik pow sauce and the rest of the ingredients. Cover
the pan and bring it to a boil, then gently simmer the soup for 10
minutes, until the mushrooms are tender. Add the glass noodles at this
step, if using.
Place some bean sprouts into the waiting bowls,
then cover them with the soup, garnishing the whole bowl after with
the chopped coriander leaves.
Another personal favourite, which takes surprisingly
little time to make but has a big taste.

Soup Company (1999). New Covent Garden Soup Company's Soup &

I've just posted details of the next big all-THB meeting being planned for the end of July/beginning of August by Basil (Roses of Dawn) and myself in the London area. We're collecting initial information. Timelines look something like this:
By 1st April, copies of this post in the various guild forums.
By 25th April, initial feedback of interested people to Basil.
By 2nd May, date picked and a provisional list of attendees available for posting to all guilds' forums. Firmer guess at costs available.
By 30th May, confirmed list of attendees back to Basil.
By 13th June, details of venue, timeline etc. released for distribution incl. costs. Those who haven't signed up have a last chance to try and avoid the bad luck of missing out
By 20th June, final confirmations of attendees back to Basil.
Read all the details on the Honourbound Real Live Meeting in UK - Summer 2008 page. Note: you do need to log in to view that page. It's restricted to members who have WoWKindness accounts for privacy reasons.
Your Honourbound reps should have posted information about the planning currently underway for a cross-guild, real-life meeting to take place in London, England at the end of July or beginning of August this summer. The current planning deadlines look something like:
By 1st April, copies of info in the various guild forums.
By 25th April, initial feedback of interested people to Basil.

If you haven't seen the complete planning post, bug your Honourbound reps!.
The Honourbound pages maintained on The One's WoWKindness wiki and the WoWKindness wiki have moved! In an effort to correct the blank pages being produced, the wiki was completely reinstalled with a brand new Tomcat application server engine as per Atlassian's suggestion. As a consequence, one of the things I could now do was configure a transparent proxy between the Tomcat server and the main Apache server for WoWKindness. In English: No more :8080 in all the wiki addresses!
All the important addresses can be found on the THB Guilds, Representatives, and Web Sites page, but I've summarized our common shortcut addresses here:
The links at the top of all pages have been updated (or should be). There may be things here and there that don't work. I'll address those in time. There's a message posted at the original wiki/forum to direct people to the new address.
If you were already using the http://www.honourbound.org/thb/ address, that will automatically redirect you to the correct new location for the content. You will need to update any RSS subscriptions though (including those via RSSFwd available by clicking the "mail" icon throughout this site).
Basil (Roses of Dawn) and Elsheindra have purchased an unlimited WoWWebStats account that's good for at least the next six months. WoWWebStats allows you to host raid stats of who's killing what, who's healing whom, and who's doing all the damage, plus a whole pile more.
The "unlimited" part of our account gives us the following advantages:
priority posting of new data
priority viewing of data
reports are stored indefinitely
we can store an indefinite number of reports
it's all ad-free
The WoWKindness shortcut address of http://www.honourbound.org/stats/ will take you to The Honourbound Alliance's report list page, summarizing all the reports available.
At the moment, there are only reports for raids organized by Basil where Elsheindra was also present and recorded the combat log for later analysis. However, this facility is available for use by other THB raid leaders. Please contact your Honourbound representative for information on how to collect the data and get access to upload it.
Terracotta team member Phoebus (L70 Mage, Roses of Dawn) was trying to video the Eagle boss attempt in Zul'Aman yesterday but ended up with a video of them doing the Gauntlet to the Eagle boss instead. He posted it on YouTube for us all to see:
I think he's learned some important lessons:
Keep an eye on whether it's recording or not
Keep the camera closer to the action
Don't say "Things are going smoothly". (-:
All I have to say is, "Next time, Zul'Aman! Next Time!"
As you might have guessed from the discussion about me buying a house, Basil (Roses of Dawn) and I are about to move into a debt house of our very own. We're in the process of organizing ourselves to move now and the move will start when we take possession of the house this coming Saturday.
I've been somewhat away from the game of late to organize that, plus I've been busy marking and doing teaching-related things, and a fan on my laptop is dying. The latter makes me wary of running WoW, since that's one of the few things that normally makes the fan run. I have a new fan and a new display on order; they should arrive any day.
Anyway, I expect to be away and/or very busy for at least the next 30 days with the move, with marking, and with starting to teach a brand new course. Be good! I'm leaving Shiny and Kari and Popcorn in charge (not Val – he's too dangerous to be left in charge, especially with that Wildgrave lurking around!)
Better quality version is on same site but not available because approval process is taking longer for high quality videos.
I'll post the better quality link when the video is available also another video should be coming soon with PoV from me and Phoebus, boss is still undecided.
You may have noticed that Basil and Elsheindra, your THB Co-Coordinators, have been somewhat missing in action lately. That's because we're in the process of gearing up to move into our new house!, plus my laptop needs a new fan which is on order. It can't cope safely with WoW at the moment.
We take possession of the house this weekend and we'll be doing the move over the course of the next week.
If you need us, please e-mail us: thbinfo is the username on the honourbound.org address or basil/elsh (not Elsheindra!).
The CursedCrusaders have put together a Karazhan team running on Saturday and Sunday evenings, named after the fiery, pungent ginger root favoured in Asian cooking. Team Ginger started off on March 27th, taking down Attumen on their first visit. Rumour has it they're looking for some more regular players. Check with Zalfruun/Aelhaern or Laraelia about what classes they need.
With most of the original team available tonight (and toes all crossed that Elsheindra's laptop didn't give up the ghost), Team Terracotta stormed through Zul'Aman. For the first time ever, they were able to down Jan'Alai, the Dragonhawk boss. Their reward? Wandjina walked off with Wub's Cursed Hexblade. Lucky warlock!
Congratulations, guys! You first attempted Jan'Alai on February 27th, so it's been a while coming. I've heard a rumour that there will be videos later! In the meantime, follow their progress on the Zul'Aman Raid Progress page.
9.4 Team Terracotta had succesful kill on Jan'alai the dragonhawk avatar and we got it on tape!
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v6848088HmK82cYF PoV from me and Phoebus (also the better one)
Also forgot to edit the credits properly so it has wrong music listed. Real songs are:
Turisas - To Holmgard And Beyond
Stratovarius - Hunting High And Low
Stream(requires flash player) or stream through veohclient (better quality but needs veohtv client installed) or download (which also requires veoh client)
I was little bored so i got idea to make a PvP video.
The video material in this PvP video isn't huge because i made this one fast for testing purposes.
Derthon PvP (When you press play it pops up another window which is pop-up ad so click that off and let the video buffer a little and then press play) (requires flash player so if youtube works for you so does this.)
WARNING: This movie contains Melodical Heavy Metal music (no screaming though....well not much!) so if you don't like the music, mute video sound and listen to your own or watch it without music.
Songs:
In Flames - Alias
In Flames - Move Through Me
I appreciate that you give me some comments, both positive and negative are welcome and if you like it, i might make another one with more variety(different BG's etc).
For anyone that has grouped/raided with Brotherfant recently, you may have noticed that he spouts (slightly) amusing phrases every time he resses someone.
Now I've been having a play with the code, and I've tweaked it somewhat to allow it to whisper the person you are ressing as well as announcing it in /say.
Thing is, most of the quotes on it are complete rubbish and I need some suggestions. See below for current phrases.
If you have any suggestions please feel free to tell me and i'll add it.
Also, if you think any of the phrases that I've left are rubbish and you want me to take them out, again, please say.
I've also uploaded the addon to this page. Feel free to try it out if you wish.
Shekin
Phrases in /say
"Congratulations name, you have just been nominated for the Badgerboi award!",
"Back on your feet name! Just don't come crying to me if you die again.",
"Clearly, name hasn't learned how to get out of the fire yet.",
"Bringing name back to life. Please have shotgun ready in case of zombie.",
"name, by clicking 'Accept', you, the resurrected, hereby consign your soul to the resurrecter, i.e., me.",
"Let's give name a round of applause for that beautiful demonstration of what not to do.",
"Giving name a shot at another 10% durability loss, please stand by.",
"Quit kissin' the floor, name!",
"De-smearing name. Try not to step in the goo.",
"name has encountered a fatal error. Rebooting...",
"It turns out name is only mostly dead.",
"You have 10 seconds to finish going through name's pockets.",
"Just remember, name--better you than me!",
"name has made the ultimate sacrifice.",
"Hey name, you know it took Jesus three days to do this?",
"Stay away from the light name!",
Phrases to be whispered
"Get up! This is no time to rest!",
"What are you doing? Who said you could die?",

Just to give you a quick note: This monday (21st of april) was my last run in Karazhan as Raidleader of team purple.
It had its ups and downs, But from the start of purple till now we where always on top, killing the prince on the first time we went there as a team, and today on the last day with me as leader we still got him down.
This for me was one of the most succesfull things I have ever done in WoW and ofcourse it couldnt have worked without all the support I got from everyone in the team.
I am probably going to regret it and miss you all pretty soon, but I had to move on at some point.
Reason for leaving is that, although I will probably be online still on some mondays, I want to be able to plan more evenings free to be with my friends and especially my Girlfriend who is the sweetest person Ive ever met.
Furthermore: I dont even need the badges nor the items (I even got some in my bank which I dont use...).
Besides that, at some point after almost a year of doing Karazhan I kinda feel like there must be something else to do with my time.
I really love to stay for Gruuls lair and Zul'Aman (If Basil and Elsh are done moving hehe ) btw, so no worries.
lastly: I want to thank everyone who made Purple such an awesome team to be in: All past and present members, I couldnt imagine a better group of people to raid with. And as a raidleader I am still proud we got this far. Special thanks to Shekin, Juffa, Derth and Jeanda (must be twins... - with Finns you winns) and Amara who stuck with me the longest (hope I dont forget anyone here btw!!)
Furthermore I would like to thank Basil for getting this team up with/for me in the first place!
Jeanda and Shekin agreed on taking Purple over and will probably do a fine job! Good luck to the both of you!
(So if you might have questions about purple, you know who you can /poke from now on )
We've finally got some details for the guild meeting on May the 24th!
Luna's come up with a plan in a format similar to previous events:
Meet up at 11am(ish) at Bournemouth Railway Station.
Noon Lunch (we'll see what's good on the day)
Afternoon entertainment: a trip to the Oceanarium We're looking to get a group booking if 10 or more people are going to come along, so we can get a tour guide (It's also a little cheaper for everyone if we do, so sign up soon so we can make these arrangements).
Dinner will be at a place called Cuccini's Italian restaurant... because I hear that pizza is a popular choice
Thanks for researching that for us Luna. See you there
Luna is also willing to put people up for the weekend, those who live far away, but wish to attend.
Additionally we might look into Eye in the Sky if people are ok with heights.
Right, after being let down by a couple of our 'regular' healers on more than one occasion now, Team Ginger is looking for a priest to run Karazhan with us.
This will most likely be a permanent spot, as we consistently have problems with crowd control.
