Ventrilo Pledge Drive & World of Logs Hosting
Last changed: Nov 07, 2009 07:19 by Elsheindra
Labels: thbnews

General

We've reached our Ventrilo subscription goal as of November 5th. Read on if you didn't donate but would still like to contribute to our World of Logs subscription.

The Honourbound Alliance makes extensive use of our 75-slot Ventrilo server for raid coordination, instancing, THB representative meetings, socializing, and private chats by providing a variety of rooms available at all times to any members of Honourbound Alliance guilds.

It does, however, come at a cost. Initial costs were paid by Basil (Roses of Dawn) and Elsheindra (The One). We've subsequently had donations totalling $296 US from 13 other THB members that have allowed us to expand from our initial 35-slot server to the current 75 slots. Thanks a lot to those who have donated so generously in the past (a few of the donations were over $50 US a piece!).

We soon need to renew our Ventrilo hosting services. Our current hosting costs are approximately $212 US/year. We need to raise $200 US by the 22nd of November. DarkStar LLC, our Ventrilo host, has a ClanPay system that allows you to make a contribution directly to our Ventrilo account using either a credit card or PayPal.

You don't need to donate a lot, but if you can donate at least $5.00, that would be extremely helpful. Obviously, if you can afford to donate more, that's even better. It will take 40 people donating $5.00 US to cover our costs versus, say, only 10 people donating $20 US each.

World of Logs Hosting

The Honourbound Alliance also makes use of real-time log analysis and hosting services. Last year we used WoW Web Stats (which Elsheindra and Basil paid for). This year we switched to World of Logs (http://www.honourbound.org/stats). Our costs for that are 80.00€ a year. We're still accepting donations for that and our general hosting/domain name registration costs (also absorbed generally by Elsheindra).

Donate Now

Ventrilo:
Donating for Ventrilo subscriptions. is easy. Just go to our ClanPay account, choose PayPal or Credit Card, and follow the instructions. I've included some screenshots of the sequence below for doing it via PayPal. Note that it is a secure, encrypted connection. Upon completing your payment, you should receive a confirmation e-mail from PayPal or from DarkStar.

Updated: We've collected enough for this part, so I've removed the ClanPlay donation button and screenshots.

World of Logs
Donations can be made via PaPal towards our World of Logs or general hosting/domain name costs using Elsheindra's PayPal address (it will say "micha@" some site at the top and specifically mention THB World of Logs Subscription).

Don't have PayPal? Talk to Basil or Elsheindra in game about postal orders, game cards, cheques, or bank transfers. We also take desserts! (-:

Donated To Date

Ventrilo
$205 via ClanPay for our Ventrilo Server from 6 very generous donations. That's sorted! We had $17 left over from previous donations, so we have sufficient for our $212/year 75-slot Ventrilo subscription. Thanks to everyone who donated there.

World of Logs
£15.00 as of November 6th. That's about €16.79 towards our goal.

Progress of Jannice
Labels: comingsgoings

Hi!

As some of you are aware my account got compromised last thursday and Blizzard decided to lock me out
becauce they suspected me to buy gold.
Yesterday they completed the investigation and concluded that i did not buyed gold and told me that my account would be active once again.

But now i got another issue at hand. They activated the blizzard login authenticator that i currently do not own so i can't login for the time being.

Im gonna take a trip home to my parents place to get the vanilla wow box so i can get my serial key that is needed to get the support i need from blizz. So i hope i can be around and play with you guys soon again when all this hazzle is over!

Take care in the meantime and have fun!

Best regards Jannice

Team Atomic Tangerine

It has been an intresting few weeks for the New raid team lead by the drawf that likes to wipe Sonarbadak.

Within Atomic Tangerine you will find:

Raid Leader: Sonarakbadak, Hunter, The One.
Tank: Jannice, Paladin, The One.
Tank: BunnyChewToy, Druid, The One.
Healer: Talma, Priest, Cursed Crusade.
Healer: Wisest, Priest, Phoenix Legion.
Healer: Harlequinne, Priest, The One.
Dps: Whiro, Rogue, The One.
Dps: Stegost, shaman, The One.
Dps: Ivanabteller, mage, Cursed Crusade.
Dps/Tank: Sathem, Paladin, The One.

I would like to thank Juxia (the one), Evenstars (roses of dawn), Pendragon (the one), Karinaaru (the one) and Withnail (the one) for there help on the few days when we have had sickness or blizz blocks to help fill our missing spaces.

this lovely little team raids on a Monday and tuesday,

the first week went fairly well with us getting used to eachother and how we all played and clearing naxx 10man in the two days alloted to us. though we found most of the items droping were not upgrades though Wisest got a fair few upgrades

on our second week we desided to have a little fun with Naxx.. and cleared all but Kel'Thuzad, we ran over raid time and everyone was a bit sleepy so we kept making stupid little mistakes but it was all Fun.
the following night we thought to catch up with the team Scarlet (the scarlet pimps) and show they are not the only raid team to start Ulduar this month, with Pendragons and withnails help we Cleared the Flame Lavathian on 1st Attempt, Razorscale on 2nd go and XT-002 Deconstructar on 1st attempt. as we did not expect to get past all 3 bosses so quickly there was no plan to go on and our raid leader had not looked up tatics for more.. so we went back to Naxx to finish off Kel'Thuzad on 1st attempt.

Week 3 and we were back in uldar after extending the Raid. the 1st night we took down Kologarn and then tryed the iron council with not much luck, 2nd night we took down Auriaya after a few attempts then back to iron council were we made a little progress but did not take them down.

we are letting the raid reset this week so we can go in fresh next week and take on the 1st few bosses again to gear up and to have fun.

Yes, Dorothy, you can buy pets & Kari has.

Lil' K.T.

Blizzard has introduced the ability to buy a few in-game pets via the Blizzard store. This MMO-Champion article includes the blue postings and FAQs that went along with these new pets. Briefly, however, you can pay $10 US (€10) to buy either a Lil' K.T. or a Pandaren Monk. Lil' K.T. is a miniature Kel'Thuzad, with all that entails!

You need to have a Battle.net account (which you should anyway, because on November 12th, you won't be able to play WoW anymore without one) and pets are account bound. For every purchase of a Pandaren Monk until December 31st, Blizzard will donate 50% to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Pandaren Monk

Rumour has it there are those among us who already have Pandaren Monks. Gnomish Intelligence Services (GIS) found this picture of Karinaaru with Starelf (Roses of Dawn) flaunting their new Pandaren Monk pets in Dalaran.

Want your own? Buy your own Lil' K.T. or Pandaren Monk in the EU. Remember, Pandaren Monk purchases give 50%% of purchase cost to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Attending Events Reminder
Last changed: Nov 11, 2009 11:47 by Elsheindra
Labels: thbnews

Image copyright Julian Klewes for his WordPress Bomb Theme

This week's 25-person run on Tuesday had to be cancelled because Cannon was only able to assemble 14 of the people on the rota for Tuesday evening. That meant there were 11 spots to fill. Some of the missing people he knew about in advance, but the majority he didn't.

We recognize that real life sometimes intervenes. However, if at all possible, if you're signed up for an event, whether because you're part of a team and automatically signed up or you've signed up yourself, please inform the event leader in advance of the event or use GEM to mark yourself as "not coming" if you're unable to attend for some reason.

In addition, we've had a few incidents of people signing up for events and then going off for a "better offer" at the last minute. That's not acceptable behaviour and could lead to losing raid spots or not being given them as you'll get a reputation for unreliability.

As a casual raiding alliance, we rely heavily on people making commitments and keeping to them in order to run our events and progress. Please do your part: make your commitments or do the responsible thing and let people know in advance.

Thanks!

The Strangest One Guild Meeting Ever
Last changed: Nov 13, 2009 08:53 by Elsheindra
Labels: news, pictures

Fueled by suspect guild applications, odd Kari ideas, and some really out of date instant noodles, The One held its strangest guild meeting ever on Thursday, November 12th. It started off innocuously enough with announcements and hints about this month's forthcoming social event (probably last Sunday of the month in the afternoon) being organized by Sonarakbadak and Dimage. OK, maybe it started before then with the "dorf" puns, like Sonarakbadorf, and the heterodorfual. It definitely wasn't helped by Sonar bringing out his "Willy".

Sonar's Willy

You might think this was already strange enough, but wait, there's more. I was reminded that some of our initiates should be done their initiate period. The first to be done was Gerrardicus. For some reason, he seemed to be somewhat bereft of an initiate task. Gawaine, his mentor, made some mention of chocolate cake and poles and that a suitable pole had yet to be found. I was reminded that Leony had promised to sacrifice Gerrardicus if she was accepted to the guild. Then things went really strange. I started looking for a suitable table on which to do the sacrifice and Kari suggested we need a Sonar table. The next thing I knew, Sonar was on the floor with a pole through his "chest" (or just really happy to see us).

Polar Sonar!

Was that the end of the madness? No. We needed our Gerrardicus sacrifice, so down on Sonar "table" he went and he was poled for his many sins.

The Death of Gerrardicus!

The deed was done. Gerrardicus was dead. And there was much merriment as, in commemoration, his ghost was elevated to "Another One" status. Luckily, I have the power to breathe life back into the dead. She raised her arms, the lightning struck, and Gerrardicus was resurrected.

He's Alive!

The One danced.

Ciarana, who has promised to upload her initiate task results this weekend, was also promoted to Another One. Leony reminds us to participate in her initiate task, a cool guess the picture contest Entries need to be mailed to her in-game before next week's guild meeting.

Are You Guilty? The One's Most Wanted!
Last changed: Nov 13, 2009 09:17 by Elsheindra
Labels: news

Are you guilty of not yet having a picture of your character in your guild profile? I'm claiming you probably are if you're name appears in the list below:

Rianna (AKA Popcorn) is usually happy to help take pictures. Kari or Pop can also help or advise on uploading an image to your profile page and having it be displayed.

Let's see if we can get people's profiles updated before the next guild meeting.

Last changed: Nov 14, 2009 08:17 by Elsheindra
Labels: thbnews

Saturday's raid leader meeting for 19:00 or 20:00 Game Time (a bit of confusion about that!) has been moved to 19:45 Game Time Sunday the 15th, so that's 45 minutes prior to tomorrow night's 25-person DarkPinkCoal run.

This meeting is to discuss the formation of the second 25-person team and re-organization of Team DarkPinkCoal.

Invited Attendees:

  • Basil (THB Co-Coordinator, Team Pink/Team DarkPinkCoal raid leader)
  • Elsheindra (THB Co-Coordinator)
  • Ally (Team Vermillion raid leader)
  • Cannonblast (Team Coal/Team DarkPinkCoal raid leader)
  • Devion (Team DarkSins/Team DarkPinkCoal raid leader)
  • Elliut (Team Mercury raid leader)
  • Gawaine (Team Scarlet raid leader)
  • Sonarakbadak (Team Atomic Tangerine raid leader)

The meeting will be held on the THB Ventrilo server in the locked THB Rep Meeting channel. Most of you have admin accounts and can join it yourself. The others will be moved by Basil or Elsheindra as they arrive.

If you are unable to attend, please try to talk to Basil beforehand to ensure your views are represented.

New GEM3
Last changed: Nov 17, 2009 06:20 by Phoeb (Roses of Dawn)
Labels: thbnews

GEM was giving me lots of errors so I was looking around for a sollution. Found out that wow.curse.com had a newer version of GEM3 then the authors' own site.

its still in Beta so use carefully I guess.
Funny enough it did seem to fix my errors although I cant figure what it "fixed" based on the fix list.

GEM 3.60 UI2.01

new:

  • Improved instances tag and difficulty handling
  • Added an option to create (and update) an event in blizzard calendar for every event created in GEM (only works for Guild for now)
-> User can now subscribe either from GEM or from the game calendar
  • Fixed a minor issue in ModifyEvent (the function might return nil instead of false)
  • Added UBRS as raid
  • Improved DK role detection (tank/dps depending on talent spec)

Download location:
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/guild-event-manager.aspx

Edit: Spoke to soon: now the program seems to work but the User interface is acting up...boy do I miss GEM2

Please update to GEM 3.62
Last changed: Nov 23, 2009 15:39 by Elsheindra
Labels: thbnews

You may have noticed that GEM suddenly started behaving oddly when it came to displaying events. Why this happened isn't exactly clear. It might be from people upgrading to a beta version of GEM that apparently had a different data format than the THB-approved version of 3.50. I'm happy to report, however, that we now at least have a fix for it.

Versions of GEM above 3.60 are incompatible with 3.50. We need everyone to upgrade to 3.62. If you've already installed the 3.60 beta, you will also need to upgrade to 3.62 as it will fix problems with old events not working correctly.

You can download the 3.62 version from the THB GEM page or from Curse.

Your GEM 'Channels' configuration tab should look something like this:

Note that there are two Honourbound channels there. The "honourbound" channel is used for sharing events with other Honourbound Alliance members. The "thbchat" channel is used for chatting with other players. We used to have just one channel, but the data synching made chatting very laggy especially for THB event leaders. You can get the channel passwords from your guild leaders or your THB representative

The tick in the "default" box beside the "honourbound" channel means that any events I create will be created on the "honourbound" channel. Events should only be created on the "honourbound" channel and not on the "thbchat" channel.

The "Alias" is what will be displayed in your chat log as the channel name. I use "thbe" for the events channel and "thb" for the chat channel. You can fill those in with whatever makes sense for you.

The "Slash" is a slash shortcut sequence you can use to refer to the channel. Mine has "as" which means I type "/as" (for "alliance say") on the thbchat channel. "az" means I type "/az" to type on the "honourbound" channel used for events. You can use any sequence of characters you like as long as it's at least two characters long.

Remember: You must add the channels for each character that you have.

If you have any trouble, ask in your guild or your THB representative.

Ciarana's WoW interviews with new recruits to The One
Last changed: Nov 26, 2009 06:26 by Elsheindra
Labels: initiatetask, interview

As Ciarana's initate task she was asked to interview some of the new members of the guild to get their first impressions and a little bit about them.

INTERVIEW WITH LEONY & GERRARDICUS

Leony - lvl 80 Druid, nightelf

I always used to play on the play-station and stuff and then I got sick of it because my partner Gerrardicus always won. Then I had my daughter and couldn't really get out as much as I used to so when I saw an advert for Wow just before xmas 2005 I got Gerrrardicus to get it for me as a present. Then I got Gerrardicas interested in it.

My first character was my hunter Leora and it was a toss- up between Alliance & horde but Alliance won because I felt they were prettier at the time. l love fantasy as I have always been into fantasy from an early age. I made models from the Games Workshop and I love horror films. I enjoy the world of fantasy and it just continues to be an escape from reality and bring a little excitement as it can be a bit boring being a housewife.

Gerrardicus- lvl 80 Warrior nightelf

I was told about WoW by Leony in 2005. When I bought the game for her xmas present I was playing xbox and Leony was getting very bored with me winning all the time. I installed it on my desktop and I did the free 10 day trial. Initially I didn't really get on with it. However it started to grow on me. My first char was a warrior I levelled to 13 then got bored as he kept dying so I swapped for a hunter. My first server was Eonar where I and Leony joined our first guild Outland Council then to Morbid Angels. We eventually made our own guild called Bump&Grind and made quite close friends. The guild evolved and we felt we wanted to move on so when a friend told us he was on Thunderhorn we decided to transfer over and take a look. The rest as they say is history.

I like the questing element of playing WoW that's why I have 6 level 80 characters and Leony has 5 level 80s.

I believe that ultimately the game relies on the people you play it with as behind every pixilated character is a human being and that should never be forgotten.

Now we are in The One we are enjoying being with a good bunch of people and hope to continue with them.

THB DarkPinkCoal - Icecrown Citadel - The Next Generation
Last changed: Feb 17, 2010 10:12 by Elsheindra
Labels: thboldraid, icecrown25teamdpc

General

The last DarkPinkCoal 25-person rotation has now come to an end and there's been much discussion about what was going to happen next. If you're a member of those teams, you're probably aware there have been some issues with getting sufficient people to attend Trial of the Crusader and Ulduar 25 runs of late. I'll talk about those issues in a separate post and what has been done in general about 25-person raiding in The Honourbound Alliance.

Icecrown Citadel has been released and DarkPinkCoal is regularly raiding on Tuesdays, Sundays, and Thursdays. Since Cannon's original message (below), some changes have been made:

Updates

  1. Raid end time is 23:30 server time, with overrunning approved by the team on a case-by-case basis.
  2. Raid composition changes (February 17):
    • Cannonised stopped playing.
    • Popcorn (melee) replaces Taletha (ranged)
    • Shapeshifto (healer) removed
    • Tyna (ranged) removed
    • Breicor (tank) stopped playing.
    • Perparim (ranged) stopped playing.
    • Sqog (melee) added
    • Drachonus (healer) stopped playing.
    • Divinity (healer) added
    • Zerdan (ranged) removed
    • Razaliel (ranged) added
    • Joard (ranged) added
  3. Some raid composition changes for team members:
    • Cannonised (ranged) will replace Cannonblast (melee)
    • Algoran (ranged boomkin) will replace Algoran (feral melee)
    • Taletha (ranged) will replace Popcorn (melee)
    • Shapeshifto added to list of healers.
  4. Attendance
    • Some people cannot regularly make a given night due to work, for example. Their "night off" will be the night they cannot attend (in other words, they'll probably always be at the bottom of the suicide list)
    • Missing a raid without warning in advance or a reasonable explanation (family emergency, working late, etc) after the fact will result in that person maintaining their current position in the list, so they will be potentially asked to drop out on another occasion as they reach the top of the list.
  5. Loot
    • Drops to buy recipes will go first to engineers.
    • After engineers have had a crack at recipe drops, anyone/everyone can roll.
    • SKG according to the looting rules for everything else.

Cannon's Original Message

Cannon said (with some minor formatting improvements):

The plan is to all but do away with the 3 individual 10 man teams and focus purely on the 25 man raids, running 3 nights a week practicing ICC as much as possible.

The 3 nights that have been decided are Thurs, Sun, Tues. Raid times are 20:30 server time (19:30 UK time) until finish. (23:30 server time as that is when the 10 man teams usually finish)

subject to change, the teams are comprised of...

Tanks - 2

  • Kanine
  • Shyne

Healers - 7

  • Ischtap
  • Rexmundi
  • Blackaddernl
  • Grimmjow
  • Baldette
  • Elsheindra
  • Divinity

Melee - 9

  • Devion
  • Gilghamessj
  • Popcorn
  • Chibiru
  • Enrico
  • Driftwood
  • Muadia
  • Phoeb
  • Sqog

Ranged - 9

  • Algora
  • Emptyskillbar
  • Joard
  • Jazhara
  • Giovou
  • Razaliel
  • Painterman
  • Animus
  • Veiliah

this gives a total of 27 people, which means 2 people will be taking a night off MAXIMUM (taking into account the people who cant make every run due to work etc that number is most likely to be 2). However with the possibility of no shows etc it is likely that number will be lower. It is very important people turn up if they can, we will be counting on every member. If it is proving to be too difficult to commit to the 3 raiding days you may want to consider standing aside and allowing someone who can make the days to have a shot.

As far as WHO will be taking the days off and when... no I will not be creating an elaborate rotation based on raid balance. I will be rolling a random list (probably using SKG) if it turns out we have too many people online then the person at the top of this list sits out 1 raid and 'suicides' to the bottom of the list.

If you do not show up for a raid without prior notice you will NOT get suicided until you have taken your turn. (with prior notice i.e. 24 hrs+ it may be that the night you cant make it be your 'Suicide').

Exceptions to this will be...

  • those that have already expressed difficulty with particular days due to prior commitments etc. (these will be ommitted from the list entirely)
  • Tanks. (difficult to rotate 3 tanks and the more stable the tanking team the better things will go.)
If a night off by someone would overly compromise the raid balance (e.g. a healer when we are already short of healers) this last exception will be dealt with on the night

NOTE: Just because you are at the top of the list does not mean you are ok to just not show up. (as stated before if you do not show up without prior notice of 24 rs then you will NOT be suicided and you will be taking the next raid off also. This is to ensure we get the raid going even if we have a couple of no shows.

In order to avoid arguement and wasted time, Invites will start at 20:15 server time. At exactly 20:30 any overbooked people will leave the raid and that nights raid team will be fixed. If you are late and we are full you will be taking a night off. This is mostly to make the raid leaders head ache less wondering if people are gonna show up, and waiting 5 or 10 mins to see if they show up before replacing. People who know they will have trouble getting to the raid on time but can GUARANTEE they will be there can let me know and I will hold their spot. NOTE: this is for extreme circumstances. I do not want half the raid coming to me to book their place because they might get caught up watching the latest episode of House!

I don't think I need to tell you, but I will anyway...

  • Food, Flasks, potions. etc are a REQUIREMENT (its not like I ever forget to get flasks) Fish feasts may not be available (depending on how much we wipe!) so please have a stash of your own food.
Please buy or make them BEFORE invites as people running to the AH at 20:35 because they forgot flasks will slow everyone down.
  • All being well we will be having a break half way through the night at which point people who have won gear can go and get it chanted and gemmed as long as they are quick however other than on that break please wait until AFTER the raid. Waiting 10 - 15 mins for one person to get this done is probably not worth the 50 dps increase that piece of gear will give you.

These are just a few of the points that have been raised to me in the past about how various things can slow raids down. (and yes I am as guilty as some and more guilty than most!!!) but if we are going to hammer ICC then we need to tighten up a bit and give it our all

Most importantly tho, as always, the point of the raid is still FUN, so if you have any issues about anything please /w Cannonblast, Devion or Veiliah and we will try to help but please keep it out of raid chat.

Raiding with THB
Last changed: Nov 28, 2009 13:17 by Goldilox (Ye Olde Geezers)

I've recently had a foray into the world of top end raiding guilds and was asked to write a little about the experience and how it compares to the Honour Bound Alliance raiding environment.

From my brief experience the hardcore raiders in wow put a great deal of focus on guild progression and getting server-first boss kills, often grinding the same encounter for days at a time. Admittedly this does suit some players as they are perceived by the wider gaming community as being at the very top of their game. This is undoubtedly the case as running hardmode encounters carries very little margin for error and individual mistakes will nearly always cause a wipe. Being part of a successful top-end raiding guild really does mean that you've mastered your class but I've found that this can be at the expense of fun..... and isn't that why we all started playing wow in the first place?

The Honour Bound Alliance has struck a balance in this regard and maintains a casual raiding environment where the focus is much more biased towards the social aspects of the game. This is not to say that THB is incapable of completing the most challenging content; to the contrary the raiding groups within THB have completed some of the hardest encounters in the game (and this is reflected in the individual guild rankings on the server).

THB members don't get penalised for missing raids and loot of all levels is accessible to everyone. This is fundamental in promoting fairness and ensuring that the casual/fun aspects of the alliance are maintained.

The current structure of both fixed raid teams and drop-in runs caters for those guild members who are just getting into raiding for the first time and also for those needing to progress both gear and experience. Opportunities also exist for the less experienced members to fill-in as replacements or substitutes in the fixed teams and new 10-man groups are being formed on a consistent basis.

These are all areas which are absent from the top raiding guilds and that make THB somewhat unique. We're all here to have fun and share a laugh. The fact that we're capable of achieving great things in wow together is a testament to the strength of the alliance and shows that we must keep work hard to maintain the cohesion that exists between us all.

Future THB Meet Planning - Winter or Spring 2010

Wimsy (Roses of Dawn) is interested in coordinating another Honourbound meet, possibly for the winter or spring of 2010. Her intention was to have one that everyone could afford to attend, so it would not be held in a city, but in some sort of self-catering accommodation. I've copied here her original posting back from June, 2009, as well as her latest posting from November 29th, 2009.

Hiya Guys and Gals.

I can see your having a smaller meet in london in july, and I started to think about maybe it was time for a bigger one where we oversea'ers could join in.

So I calculated that if us poor people should have a chance to come we needed at least 6 months to save up, maybe more.. so I was thinking of this winter, or maybe the beginning of 2010 - closer to spring?

I dont mind organising, done that kind of stuff before - but might need a hand from someone in the UK for checking out the location I find and maybe do some of the communication - and it's always nice to have some help.

So first of all : Basil would you copy paste this post to the Honourbound forums?

Second: Are you guys up for it?
I am counting on finding a place we can all stay cheap.. so wount be in the city - no resturant trips or anything, we will have to plan some games and quizzes for the evenings, and we can cook ourselves.. well.. someone should know how to cook Tongue

so what do you say??

Hey - I have been to http://www.coedybrenin.com/ , and it is a nice place, and the people there are very helpfull, I think it is like 20 pounds per night per person, and we can prolly fit in the main house alone.

So what do you guys think? would you come if it was there?
is it too far away as it is in Wales? or a good *in the middle solution?

[Section relevant to Roses only removed – Ein]

mainhouse is if i remember corretly 2 or 3 2-person bedrooms upstairs, a 4 person room upstairs, a 4 and a 6 person room downstairs, and if needed there is also 2 caravans out back that can house 4 or so each.
then there is a semi large lounge room, and a kitchen that we could cook in just fine.

there is also a extra house a bit up the road - like 100 meters or so, and that has a bunch of 2 person rooms aswell.

Lemme know what you think.

Edit:

Ast suggested http://www.torviewcentre.co.uk/barn.html and I agree it sure looks nice, and the prices are about the same if we get over 12 ppl Smiley

So please leve feedback Smiley

Master of Steam, God of Mortar - The One November Event
Last changed: Nov 30, 2009 12:12 by Elsheindra

Stranglethorn Vale on Sunday, November 29th, was host to The One's monthly social event: Master of Steam, God of Mortar, organised primarily by Sonarakbadak. We met at the Rebel Camp in Stranglethorn Vale before travelling to the competition sites.

Sonar divided the competition into two phases. The first took place in a conveniently square troll arena, down near the shore. The 15 participants were divided into five teams of three people each:

Team ESP
  • Elsheindra (The One)
  • Popcorn (The One)
  • Shinytoaster (The One)
Team America
  • Merihem (Ye Olde Geezers)
  • Stokovich (The One)
  • Wandjina (Roses of Dawn)
Team Aggro Monkeys
  • Kanine (Roses of Dawn)
  • Muadia (Roses of Dawn)
  • Stegost (The One)
Team Murloc
  • Harlequinne (The One)
  • Phoeb (Roses of Dawn)
  • Talma (Cursed Crusaders)
Team Cupcake
  • Kraxxia (Roses of Dawn)
  • Sathem (The One)
  • Sonarakbadak (The One)

The teams were pitted against one another in groups of two. Each team member deployed their tonks. The last tonk standing won its team the round. Team America basically kicked our butts. Wandjina just wouldn't be stopped.

We then headed off to an underwater murloc-infested arena area for the second part of the competition: everyone versus everyone else underwater. We had three rounds. Two supposedly for practice and then one to win the title. Wandjina outlasted everyone in the two practice rounds, but apparently fell victim to some local "distraction" during the last round, giving the title of "Master of Steam, God of Mortar" to Phoeb (you owe me!).

Some Pictures from the Event

01 B and E share a romantic picnic while waiting for people to appear   02 The participants congregate at the Rebel Camp in Stranglethorn Vale   03 Some participants at the site of the first content, waiting for tonks to be handed out

04 John Travolta's got nothing on us!   05 Fire in the Dance! Hot stuff coming through!   06 Group shot of all the participants before we start the first content

07 Prepare the tonks and let's prepare to rumble!   08 Twiddling our thumbs as the teams battle one another   09 Let me read you a little poem I wrote for the occasion: Boom Boom Boom!

10 Some participants walking on water on their way to the second competition site.   11 It's an underwater tonk fight, with every person for him or herself   12 I'm gonna get your little fishy!

13 There's that Wandjina, twiddling his thumbs yet again.   14 Muffled booms and explosions as tonks take out tonks in a graceful underwater ballet   15 50 points for whomever hits the murloc first!

16 Look at Phoeb go!   17 Victory is ours. The participants gather for a final goodbye shot.

The entire event lasted about two hours, although we were fairly slow to start. Next time we'll be a little better organized. A good time was had by all. Thanks for coming out.
