Name: Cosmos Version: June 20, 2006 Release Date: 06/20/2006 (mm/dd/yyyy) Works With: WoW-EN Patch Version 1.11 OS Platform: Universal Mod. Home Page:http://www.cosmosui.com/ Mod. Support Area:http://www.cosmosui.com/forums/
Cosmos is one of the first compilation UI packages for World of Warcraft, providing an easy way to install and to configure a wide range of useful modifications. The following modifications are incorporated into the attached Cosmos release:
Some of these modifications are social/historical in nature: tracking things you've done with other people (and when), allowing you to make notes about people, improving the chat interface (TellTrack, SocialMods, Sky, Earth, PartyQuests, ChatScroll, AltInvite, ChatTimeStamps).
Some of them help specific classes. TotemStomper is for warlocks. There's an ArcaneBar/Cast Options for casters and mages. Some stuff hidden away for priests (Divine Blessings), and ShardTracker (for enchanters). Just disable stuff you don't want/need.
Some included modifications present information better or more obviously: AllInOneInventory, CombatStats, CombatCaller, Atlas (map of all instances!), and WorldMapInfo, or help you configure keys and bars better (BetterKeyBindings, BarOptions)
Cosmos is the underlying engine that powers the Thottbot site. Windows users have the option to upload information collected by the included Thottbot modification to the Thottbot site.
Usage
Installation
Mac:
Unzip the archive
Go into the "Interface/AddOns" folder it created.
Copy everything in there into your "Interface/AddOns" directory in your World of Warcraft installation.
Windows:
Unzip the archive
Use the included Cosmos.exe file to patch your existing World of Warcraft installation. It will automatically update the relevant files for you. If you don't want to do that, you can follow the Mac instructions.
Using with Other Mods:
If you use Cosmos with other modifications and you want to be sure the Cosmos patcher doesn't remove those modifications, you need to create an empty file/directory with the same name as the modification you don't want deleted plus a ".nopatch" extension. For example, I use FlightMap, so I have an empty directory named "FlightMap.nopatch" which would prevent the Cosmos patcher from deleting my FlightMap modification. This empty directory goes into the AddOns folder.
Configuring:
Once it's installed and youv'e relaunched World of Warcraft, there will be a "Khaos" option in your main game options (esc) and probably a C graphic attached to your minimap. Either one will bring up the configuration pane.
You can enable/disable things globally or for specific characters. There's also different levels of options presented for beginners, experts, etc.
