General
Zul'Gurub is the first of the raid training grounds in preparation for Molten Core and other end-game instances. Some people claim, in fact, it's harder than Molten Core, but you can't have everything and it does have some very cool armour and weapon drops for members of many classes.
This is a recurring Honourbound Alliance cross-guild venture into Zul'Gurub, led by The One/Roses of Dawn on Thursday evening every week. In each trip, at least three bosses are tackled and it can be as many as five.
If you're interested in going and you're Level 58-60, sign up using GEM. There are spaces for at least 20 people. If you can't use GEM for some reason (why not?), you'll need to notify Elsheindra in-game so she can add you manually. You can also leave a note here.
Some weeks have two simultaneous runs on the Thursday. For those runs, a single sign-up sheet is posted for 40 people and we split the people up at the start of the raid into two separate raids.
Available Quests
- L58 Confront Yeh'kinya. Pick this up from Prospector Ironfoot at Steamwheedle Port (Tanaris). If you can get this and you're a caster, the reward is a very nice blue cloak (+int/+stam) with mana regeneration. Turn it in to Yeh'kinya, also at Steamwheedle Port. This is step 7 of quest chain list spanning multiple dungeons.
- L60 The Heart of Hakkar is a quest picked up from a purple drop inside the dungeon. Turn it in to Molthor on Yojamba Isle. Only one person per run can get this.
- L60 A Collection of Heads. This is a collection quest that can span multiple dungeon runs. Pick it up from Exzhal on Yojamba Isle. I believe, although there's an item for this quest, it can be shared. The reward is a blue belt with multiple attribute enhancements. Something for everyone.
- L60 The Perfect Poison. This quest is picked up from Dirk at the Inn at the Cenarion Hold (Silithus). The quest is to collect some poison sacs from Venoxis in Zul'Gurub and Kurinaxx in Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. As a reward, there are all kinds of blue axes, knives, maces, and swords with some tasty bonuses.
- A number of blue/purple class-specific armour reward quests for bracers, chest armour, shoulder armour, and belts. All of these involve limited purple drops from within the dungeon. These are called "Paragons of Power" quests.
- Yojamba Isle is in Strangethorn Vale, up in the northwestern corner.

Let's start 2007 off in style, with one 20-person run to Zul'Gurub tonight, starring
Basil (Roses of Dawn) and
Elsheindra as your intrepid leader duo.
B&E present Hacking at Hakkar on Saturday this week after Thursday's run. Sign ups for Saturday's run will give preference to Thursday's attendees but there are always extra slots. Look for the sign-up sheet to be posted in GEM during Thursday's run.
After a very interesting run on Thursday, the 11th, with a malfunctioning raid UI that didn't allow us to choose main tanks, set raid leaders, promote people to assistants, or properly set the master looter, we're off to try our luck with Hakkar anyway later today. Apparently the last patch has broken my GEM file parser to web program, so I can't post the sign-up sheet here. It is, however, available online! Sign in and sign up now for fun, fun, fun 'til Hakkar takes the T-Bird away!
NOTE: There's a time change for Saturday, January 13. We're starting at 19:15 Game Time instead of 20:00. This is because of Thursday's problems which led us to only doing 3 bosses instead of 4.
