General Dungeon Info

Location: Scarlet Monastery (Tirisfal Glades)
Quest Levels: 38-40
Abbreviation: SCM/SM

Welcome to the Scarlet Monastery. If you're looking for a place to engage in quiet contemplation and navel gazing, this isn't it. (-: You'll find the Scarlet Monastery up in the north-eastern corner of Tirisfal Glades.

The Quests (By Level)

  • L38 Mythology of the Titans. Pick up this quest from Librarian Mae Paledust in Ironforge. You'll find her in the Hall of Explorers somewhere.
  • L40 In the Name of the Light. Pick up this quest from Raleigh the Devout in the Hillsbrad Foothills, in Southshore. This is part of a chain. The first link is Brother Anton, picked up from Brother Crowley in the basement of the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind. This quest sends you to Nijel's Point in Desolace to kill some undead as part of the Down the Scarlet Path quest. Upon completion, you're sent to see Raleigh the Devout in Southshore.
  • L40 If you're a mage, you might want to do Rituals of Power. You can pick it up from Magus Tirth in Thousand Needles, around the Mirage Raceway, in the Shimmering Flats. This ends with Tabetha in Dustwallow Marsh somewhere.

Transportation

How to get there. See also Transportation Links for flightpaths and boat routes.

From Southshore: Griffin from Ironforge to Southshore. If you don't have a flightpath, you'll need to make a long walk north from Menethil Harbor. Once in Southshore, travel along the road until the fork in the road, then head west. At the next fork in the road, take the fork going northeast, heading towards Silverpine Forest. Once in the Silverpine Forest area, take the first fork heading northeast toward Amber Mill. At Amber Mill, head west until the T-intersection, where you need to go north. Follow the road north, north, north, ignoring all forks, travelling into Tirisfal Glades. Once there, follow the instructions for Tirisfal Glades.

From Tirisfal Glades: Travel northwest from the Silverpine Forest border. Watch out for the undead towns along the road. You should pass two forks in the road, which you should ignore, on your way to Brill. When you reach Brill, follow the road out of town towards the south. At the T-intersection, go west. You'll only need to go a little way along that road. You're looking for a dirt track heading northwestish. Follow the track to the Scarlet Monastery.(See also Tirisfal Glades Map)

Hints and Tips

  • At the conclusion of In the Name of the Light, you can pick one of four enhanced items: an axe, a sword, a knife, or an orb. The axe vendors for up to 75s more than the knife.

Exploits

  • April 20, 2005: Shalia (Level ?) led Swiftsong (Level 39 Hunter), Elsheindra (Level 38 Druid), Schnurbart (Level 41 Warrior) into the Monastery, finishing off the High Inquisitor Whiteman and Scarley Commander Mograine. Even though the group was small, they managed to make it through without any deaths, except Binky the Wonderbear (Swifty's pet). Huzzah!
  • April 19, 2005: Valetta (Level ?) led Zantania (Level ? Priest), Swiftsong (Level 38 Hunter), Elsheindra (Level 38 Druid), and Schnurbart (Level 39 Warrior) into the Monastery, where we killed Herod (again) for Swifty. All hail the mighty conquerors!
  • April 2, 2005: Swiftsong (Level 34 Hunter), Elsheindra (Level 35 Druid), Schnurbart (Level 36 Warrior), Specialvat (Level 38 Druid), and Ayrton (Level 45 Paladin) went through the first two quests twice in the Monastery. The second time was because Swiftsong had forgotten to turn in the undead killing quest and had to run back. We had a few deaths, including the entire party once, but overall a strong showing.
