General Dungeon Info
Location: Uldaman (Badlands)
Quest Levels: 35-47
Abbreviation: ULD
If you have a night only, this is not a good instance. For most people, it's going to require several visits, particularly to do the Lost Necklace chain of quests, which never seem to end and require you to bounce around all the time. Still, it's a challenging run and you should expect to encounter total party wipeouts. Find the dungeon in the north corner of Badlands.
The Quests (By Level)
- L35 A Sign of Hope is picked up in Hammertoe's Dig from a crumpled map, under a table.] It sends you to Prospector Ryedol, who will give you L35 A Sign of Hope (p2) near Uldaman, a little south of Hammertoe's Excavation, around 54,43. It ends with a guy named Hammertoe Groe in Uldaman, which is the purpose of the quest. This set is a precursor for other Uldaman quests.
- L36 Power Stones. The journey for many people begins here, picked up from Rigglefuzz. It seems difficult to finish in one go as you need to collect a bunch of "power stones" which have a poor drop rate, making it extra poor for groupwork. On the plus side, you can do it outside of Uldaman, so you could try soloing it. It has some green rewards of Bracers, Boots, or an "Energized Stone Circle", most of which have spirit and/or agility enhancements.
- L38 Agmond's Fate. Pick this up from Prospector Ironband at Ironband's Excavation Site (Loch Modan), which is southeast of the the Loch. Collect some urns and pick up some green intellect/agility enhanced gloves. Rumour has it all the urns are around or prior to Dig 1. I first had to do L37 Ironband Wants You from Prospector Stormpike in Ironforge (Hall of Explorers), followed by L38 Find Agmond picked up from Prospector Ironband (takes place at Agmond's End). Agmond's dead body gives the L42 Murdaloc quest with a very nice green mace as a reward. After that, Prospector Ironband will cough up Agmond's Fate.
- L40 The Lost Dwarves. Find an NPC named Baelog inside Uldaman. Pick up the quest from Prospector Stormpike in Ironforge in the Hall of Explorers.
- L40 Amulet of Secrets. This is the second of the series, started by A Sign of Hope above. He's inside Uldaman and wants his amulet back. Find it and return it to him, where he'll then insist that you take it back to Prospector Ryedol in the Badlands as part of the L40 quest Prospect of Faith. After that, because there's never an end, that amulet will need to be taken to Historian Karnik in Ironforge, in the Hall of Explorers, as the last part of the L40 Prospect of Faith (p2).
- L40 Solution to Doom. Pick this up from Theldurin the Lost at Agmond's End (Badlands), almost directly south from Uldaman to the bottom of the map. Find the tablet and collect a green cloth spirit robe.
- L42 Back to Uldaman is part three of the set started by the L41 quest The Shattered Necklace above. So it's picked up from Talvash del Kissel and finished at the body of a paladin inside of Uldaman, just before the Hidden Chamber.
- L42 Replacement Phial. You only need this if you lost Talvash del Kissel's Scrying Bowl. Pick it up from Talvash in the Mystic Ward of Ironforge.
- L42 Uldaman Regeant Run is picked up from Ghak Healtouch, journeyman alchemist, in Thelsamar (Loch Modan). Try looking near campfires.
- L43 Find the Gems continues where Back to Uldaman left off. This is part 4 of the set originally started by The Shattered Necklace. The body of the paladin gives you this quest to locate some gems throughout the instance. A journal, also given to you, tells you where the gems are.
- L43 Reclaimed Treasures is picked up from Krom Stoutarm in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge. Your task is to find some treasure which, rumour has it, is located outside the instance.
- L44 Restoring the Necklace picks up at the end of Find the Gems by using Talvash's scrying bowl. Find the power source for the necklace and return to Talvash del Kissel in the Mystic Ward of Ironforge where you'll receive a blue necklace with +10 stamina, +1 intellect, and +10 spirit. Oh, the power source is on the boss. Have fun! This quest finishes off the chain started originally by The Shattered Necklace.
- L45 The Lost Tablets of Will is picked up from Advisor Belgrum in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge. Your reward is a green necklace with spirit and stamina. Someone claimed that this is a continuation of a series of quests in the Badlands: L40 Passing Word of a Threat, L40 Passing Word of a Threat, and L44 An Ambassador of Evil. If so, that starts off with Historian Karnik in the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge. Oh, and, you need to have done chain started by a A Sign of Hope already. The lost tablet can be found by the ruby gem (Trogg boss).
- L47 The Platinum Discs is started by picking up the discs in the last instance room, after defeating the boss. Take the discs to High Explorer Megallas in the Hall of Explorers, in Ironforge. That will lead into the second part of the quest, the L47 The Platinum Discs (p2) to take something to Dinita Stonemantle at the Ironforge Bank, where you can pick up superior healing potions, greater mana potions, or 14-slot container as a reward.
Transportation
How to get there. See also Transportation Links for flight paths and boat routes.
From Thelsamar: Once at Thelsamar (Loch Modan), head east to The Loch. Follow the curve of the Loch south. At the bottom of the Loch, there's a passage south through the mountains. And then?
Hints and Tips
Exploits
- May 5, 2005: Specialvat (L48 Druid), Swiftsong (L42 Hunter), Schnurbart (L44 Warrior), Zantania (L44 Priest), and Elsheindra (L43 Druid). During the course of events, Schnurbart's (L44 Warrior) armour was completely destroyed and we reclothed him in items picked up in Uldaman. We suffered at least three total party wipeouts. Refreshment and armour vendors made a killing off the team! While we can't say we triumphed, we can say this: we will be back!
